thanks mebirdie i have been very fortunate. But the biggest of those bucks were killed by good freinds of mine. I was just the support crew but it's great to be able to see you're buddies have great success to. the tough part is trying to figure out how to make it all happen again next year. i can't remember if the pics say which is which but that wyoming buck and the 42 incher were both taken with 7mm's and the governer's tag buck.

Say what you will live2hunt, but last I checked the support crew is a part of the hunt as well. You may not have pulled the trigger, but if you were there, then you were part of the hunt. Y'all are gonna think I'm crazy (my wife does) but I shot the ole Custom again today (Friday) at 300yrds. Y'all are gonna think I'm full of it, but I shot 6 times, and 5 of the shots at 300yrds the rifle is hitting 6.5" (which is what Federal Premium says it will do)low and all 5 shots could fit in the palm of your hand!!!
I just love shooting the gun. Whatever y'all do to your guns it works. I had another 7mm Rem. Mag. that would bruise my sholder and cheek after about 10 shots. You guys know how much I've been shooting this Custom since I got it, and I never feel it afterwards. I do have one question about cleaning the gun now that it's been broke in. Do y'all still recommend using the Barnes copper solvent to clean it after say 10 shots if I'm gonna shoot it with-in about a week? Reason I ask is that I have noticed that my first shot is always high and to the left but the next 5 group up nicely.....What do you think?

i'll tell you what i do. I will clean the gun and go shoot 2 or 3 shots before i go hunting. then i will hunt with it and won't clean it unless i get wet or shoot like 20 to 30 rounds. If iam going to store it for say 2 weeks or more with out shooting then i will clean it even if I have only shot 1 shot through it. And yes i use barnes cr-10 every time i clean it. What about u mogster what does your cleaning regimen consist of?

Well live2hunt after my barrels are broke in I like to clean them after returning from any extreme hunt. After that I always go to the range and re-sight in, shoot a fouler shot check accuracy etc.. Then I leave my rifle as is and go hunting. That haas proven to work for me. My first shot when I get to the field is on target and usually lethal out to 800 yards.
That works for me..

Re:Accubond VS. Bear Claw Tipped 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I run an 7mm RM and the best laod as per the Nosler manual was 160AB and 61.5gn of RL19 cci 250.

Mind you in a T3 I have it shooting under .4 for three shots..

I have bergers etc but cant seat them to mag length for good accuracy 162 SST Hornady's are also bloody good!

As for the tTSX an TSX very accurate but the Sambar I hunt seem to travel too far once I hit them. I know of a Stag that took 3 chest hits and kept trying to get up.. I have since gone to the AB and SST for all of my rifles...
Something about lead in my opinion...

Try some Bergers if you want to drop them in their tracks!
I have to load 168's singel!
