As most of you know Men's Outdoor & Recreation died an untimely death. They went off the air in September. They got to big too fast and did not plan for their growth very well. They were about to become one of the biggest Outdoor Networks, but instead a 20 year old company closed there doors.. Along with the end of the network went 100's of shows with it. Our Christensen Outdoor's was one of them. Since September we have been researching which channels we should choose or pursue for our new home. I would like to hear from you on what Networks you watch.
1. Of course there is The Outdoor Channel. We started our show here in 2001. They are really the pioneers to the first real hunting channel. The only problem I hear from many people along with my own opinion is they may have forgot what got them to where they are. They keep trying to bring in all these special interest shows and I don't think the viewers are diggin them.
2.Versus- The old OLN channel. By far the largest distribution as far as households go but not a whole lot of hunting on there. Lots of special interest stuff..
3. The Sportsmans Channel- All hunting & fishing all the time. Diffiantely a plus but the real problem here is I can't get there Channel and niether can most people. There distribution is only 5 million. The word is they are looking to land a deal with Dish or Direct that will really make them accesible to most people.
4. Any other networks you watch other than the ones above let me know.

I have Dish Network, and it only has Versus and The Outdoor Channel. So I vote for one of those two.

I believe either V.S. or the Outdoor Channel would be good choices. Both are readily available on most cable networks. Those would be my two choices. The sportsman channel even though its a great thought were i live at it cost me damn near 18 dollars a month just for that one channel thats why i refuse to have it. Not sure if this is an option but how about ESPN or ESPN 2.

outdoor definitely versus has little outdoor programing mostly hockey bullriding and biking. plus being owned by comcast they cater to urban programing. in the future they will tend towards more football etc. jim cleary phila. pa.

Appreciate your feedback. We are waiting for answers back from Versus and the Outdoor Channel. I should know something enxt week. I will kepp everyone posted on what network we end up on.
