A: They both start at 1 1/4 ” at the action and end at 9/10” at the muzzle. The main difference is in the way that they taper. The bull barrel is a straight taper from one end to the other. The sporter barrel takes a more dramatic taper about 5 inches outside of the action and runs at a slightly small diameter for the remainder of the barrel. Also, the sporter barrel is 2 ounces lighter than the bull barrel.
