Shot with a Christensen Arms 338 with a Federal Premiun 225 grain Trophy Bonded Bear Claw at 136 yards. The bear dropped and didn't move again. The first time in over 10 years the outfitter/guide had a bear drop on the first shot.
This is a picture of my brown bear shot on Kodiak Island, Alaska on 11/02/06 with my Christensen Arms 338. I used a 225 grain Federal Premium Trophy Bonded Bear Claw and killed him with one shot at 136 yards. My husband and I hunted with Mike Carlson from Larsen Bay Lodge on Karluk Lake which is an inland, freshwater lake that was loaded with spawning red salmon.
