This was the perfect rifle for my Tahr hunt in New Zealand.  First it was light and easy to carry.  To give you an idea of how important this is, I've hiked up Mt Shasta and Mt Whitney (both over 14,000 ft) and neither climb was as difficult as what I had to climb in New Zealand...

 

When I first shot my Carbon One Hunter .300 Ultra Mag, I was surprised at how easy it was to shoot considering the heavy caliber and light weight of the rifle.  While on this Tahr hunt my rifle survived falls on rocks and some very wet weather.

When it was time to shoot it was getting late and we didn't have a way to get closer without spooking the game.  I had practiced a lot of long shots with that rifle and it gave me the confidence that I could both hit and anchor the target. 

With a very steady shooting position I aimed my Christensen Arms toward the Tahr some 500 yards away.  I ended up with a single shot instant kill.

I would recommend the rifle to anyone and it is only a matter of time before I get myself another Christensen Arms in a different caliber.
