Go to www.ultimatefirearms.com and look at their muzzleloaders. I have one with a burris balistic scope and is is everything they claim. There is zero problem shooting decent groups at 300 yards. They brag of countless kills at well over 300. I don't doubt it, I just have never tried. His secret is his primer system. It burns all of the pyrodex virtually at once. The gun is also very easy to clean. Two times with a damp patch and you are done. It is all I carry in Illinois during the shotgun season where we were always hampered with the minimal effective killing distance of a slug gun. I know they are pricey but they are well worth it when Mufassa is standing out there at 300 yards.

Hey i appreciate the info, iam going to call them tomorrow and get some more info on the gun. Ill have to talk to these christensen arms boys and see if they can turn the barrel down and wrap them for me. Now that would be a kick but gun. So much for my 500 dollar budget.

You'll be happy with it. Let me know what he says. I'll be interested in which scope he pushes. He will sight it in and everything with his bullets. Be sure to order those from him also. He is a typical bench shooter kind of guy but his gun is awesome. Only setback; don't be thinking Christensen Arms weight, this beast is HEAVY, but again, worth it.

300. Rem,

My buddy bought a gun from Ultimate Firearms a couple of years back after using his guides on a New Mexico Elk Hunt. Last year he took a New Mexico bull at just over 400 yards. He also uses it during the Illinois shotgun season on Whitetail and has killed several bucks between 2-300 yards. Like a.j. he has a Burris BP Scope mounted and loves it. Good Luck!
