22-250 Help 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hey guys, do any of you out their reload the 22-250 REM. I have been doing a lot a research and find that there is just an over welling amount of information. I have settled on a 50g bullet. I am thinking of using Nosler Ballistic Tips or the Hornady V-Max bullets. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Well for what its worth Plant. Know the max amount of powder your weapon can use in it and the only way you will know what weight of bullet to use is to load some different weight rounds and go out and shoot. Also bench rest shooting is the only way you will get true results. You know every weapon dosent shoot the same. Take the Army for example their sniper weapons and their amo are matched in the way I explained to you because of that reason once they have found just the right combination of bullet and powder that is what they have loaded for that weapon

Norm you’re absolutely correct. No two rifles will shoot the same. The 22-250 REM has been around long enough that there are literally volumes of information. What I was looking for was idea of where to start. Other people success stories on what works for them. For example I also reload for a 325 WSM. My bother in-law also shots the same cartridge from a different rifle (Kimber vs. Winchester) and was able to put me on the right track. The loads ultimately were a little different but in the same ball park. Norm you’re also correct having the correct tools like a Crony, COAL gauge, and a bench rest. From what I have found in my research some popular powders are H380, Varget and W760. Also there are tons of bullet makers with a lot to offer in different bullet weights. I hoping to develop a round that is sub-MOA and deadly on coyotes and other such vermin
